Atlantic Loggerhead Turtle - The Loggerhead Turtle is the most common sea turtle in Florida. It is reddish-brown in color and was named for its large head. Its powerful jaw muscles crush heavy-shelled clams and crustaceans and its thick shell serves as protection against sharks. The Loggerhead Turtle weighs between 200-350 pounds and is approximately three feet in length.
